Purpose of the role
Under the supervision of the Application Systems and IT Continuous Improvement Team Lead, the IT Continuous Improvement Specialist will be responsible for actively participating in the delivery of IT projects and improvements from an application perspective, while ensuring quality assurance of deliverables in alignment with business unit needs. Leveraging their knowledge of the company, processes, and systems, the specialist will handle configuration, development of technical requirements, testing and validation, as well as training of business unit resources. He.she will also serve as the liaison between stakeholders and internal and external technical resources during the implementation or modification of technologies and systems.
Key responsibilities
- Understand business needs in collaboration with other company stakeholders;
- Develop technical specifications for systems and their integration, ensure understanding by internal and external technical resources, and keep them up to date;
- Handle simple improvement requests;
- Configure applications according to requirements, with support from external partners;
- Generate integration files to complete technical testing;
- Perform quality control activities, including technical, regression, unit, and integration testing;
- Participate in the preparation and delivery of user training content;
- Support quality assurance for deliverables produced by service providers and team members;
- Participate in application and solution upgrades with various stakeholders;
- Assist with data archiving and different migrations;
- Update release and upgrade notes and share relevant information with stakeholders;
- Maintain application documentation up to date;
- Ensure knowledge transfer to support teams;
- Communicate effectively with all internal and external stakeholders;
- Perform any other related tasks.

Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of IT experience in the retail sector;
- Experience in system implementation;
- Experience with various integrated technology solutions;
- Knowledge of database programming languages (SQL Server or other);
- Bilingual in French and English, both spoken and written (The person must communicate outside Quebec);
- Good knowledge of the Office Suite (Teams, Outlook, Excel, Word)
